What's in the Bargain Box?

The Farmer's WifeAugust 24, 2021

Ok, here's the rub, Lockdown Lunacy gets crazy for a while, before we can sort ourselves out. One night we're happy for a few extra orders, and the next we're staring at each other wondering how we can make the next hundred or so customers happy. So if you've been wondering why we haven't updated our 'What's in the Box?' page for a week or two, just blame Lockdown!

Before we get to the contents of the boxes this week, we do have some delivery changes coming.
Last week we started back with GoPeople for our deliveries, because they can handle the current increase in order volume without fuss. Prior to this Hapi and I were running ourselves ragged trying to meet all the delivery deadlines... This move involves some change, and we have been working on minimising this as much as possible while we get sorted.

Ordering deadlines have changed
To ensure we get our runs sorted in time for GoPeople some of our ordering deadlines had to change. If you were a Friday regular you don't have to read on, as the changes impact our Thursday and Saturday local deliveries.

Orders for Thursday delivery are now required by 7pm Tuesdays
Orders for Saturday delivery required by 7pm Thursday

Orders for Friday delivery stay the same at 7pm Wednesday

Delivery areas have changed
GoPeople have their own set Metro area which is slightly different to our current delivery area. Some of our good customers unfortunately sit outside the new Metro, and GoPeople charge a levy on top of the delivery fees.

While we've been sorting through how these changes impact our runs and customers, we've been absorbing the additional cost. From next week, the new postcodes will be built into our website and you'll be offered the delivery days available for your area.

Delivery costs are rising
As you may all be aware delivery drivers are in high demand, and this has increased the cost of deliveries. We now have a handle on the new system after 2 weeks testing and have put our delivery fees up accordingly. Sadly free delivery will kick in at a higher rate due to the outsourcing.

We'll continue to monitor how things are running so that we can make changes along the way to ensure you get best value for money. In the meantime enjoy live tracking of your deliveries and a prompt reliable service.

Now onto our weekly box post!
With the beginning of spring you'll find some winter veg disappearing, and other new spring produce arriving in your boxes. We hope you enjoy this change of season!
